Welcome back!
All About Me
This is my 27th year of teaching. I taught 6th grade language arts for 5 years in Illinois after graduating from Illinois State University in 1978. I stayed home with my three children for 10 years before returning to teaching in 1993 in Georgia. I taught FOCUS for 3 years at Britt ES and for 17 years at Magill ES before coming to Shiloh ES two years ago. I am also the ESOL lead teacher for Shiloh.
I earned my masters degree (M.Ed) from the University of Georgia in 2004 and my educational specialist degree (Ed.S) from Nova Southeastern University in 2010.
My husband and I currently live in the Grayson area, and my children are now grown. My oldest daughter, Emily, is a sales manager for Hansgrohe in Alpharetta. She and her husband, Stephen, are the parents of my first grandchild, Addison. My son, Brad, is a 6th grade gifted math/science teacher at Radloff Middle School in Gwinnett. My younger daughter, Brenda, is a 6th grade science teacher at Autrey Mill Middle School in North Fulton County. Her husband, Darryl, is the media specialist at Northview High School in North Fulton.
My hobbies include reading, traveling, hiking, and singing in my church choir. I have recently become a volunteer usher at the Fox Theater. I also enjoy keeping up with many of my former students and watching them continue to succeed in their endeavors.
